How does cannabidiol (CBD) contribute to stress management?
Cannabidiol, as the other cannabinoids, interacts with the endocannabinoids and the enzymes that exist in the endocannabinoid system (ECS), which is responsible for the regulation of essential organism’s activities, such as mood.
While we are under stress, hormones, like cortisol and adrenaline, are released to the organism, also, it is observed a decrease of serotonin, a key hormone that balances our feelings. A study about cannabidiol demonstrates that CBD, thanks to the interaction with the human neuron receptors CB1 and CB2 can lead to an increase of serotonin levels. As a result, the organism gets a boost and feels more relaxed and calm. Another study that has been published in the “ The Permanente Journal”, in 2019, refers that
“Cannabidiol is a treatment that appears to be more efficient than a lot of conventional medicines, in stress cases, while it seems to have significantly less long-term side-effects.”
